Material Identification From Radiographs Without Energy Resolution

چکیده
We propose a method for performing material identification from radiographs without energy-resolved measurements. Material has wide variety of applications, including in biomedical imaging, nondestructive testing, and security. While existing techniques radiographic make use dual energy sources, energy-resolving detectors, or additional (e.g., neutron) measurements, such setups are not always practical— requiring hardware complicating imaging. tackle resolution, allowing standard X-ray systems to provide information hardware. Signal detection without finite-energy limits to quantum resolution
We show that there are extremely simple signal detection schemes where the finiteness of energy resources places no limit to the resolution. On the contrary, larger resolution can be obtained with lower energy. To this end the generator of the signal-dependent transformation encoding the signal information on the probe state must be different from the energy. We show that the larger the deviati...
متن کاملIdentification of staphylococci isolated from clinical material.
A total of 350 staphylococci isolated from various clinical sources were examined for bound and free coagulase, fermentation of mannitol, and deoxyribonuclease. The economical coagulase-mannitol-agar method of Esber and Faulcomer was found to be suitable for the detection of free coagulase and mannitol fermentation. A significant number of coagulase- and mannitol-negative staphylococci proved t...
متن کاملDental Biometrics: Human Identification Using Dental Radiographs
The goal of forensic dentistry is to identify people based on their dental records, mainly as radiograph images. In this paper we attempt to set forth the foundations of a biometric system for semi-automatic processing and matching of dental images, with the final goal of human identification. Given a dental record, usually as a postmortem (PM) radiograph, we need to search the database of ante...
متن کاملScene Reconstruction from High Spatio-Angular Resolution Light Fieldsupplementary Material
In Figure 1 we compare our method to two stereo methods [Zitnick et al. 2004; Szeliski and Scharstein 2002]. Both methods initially match image segments or patches and then refine these coarse estimates using a smoothing or propagation strategy. For evaluation we use Middlebury stereo data sets with the ground truth, enabling a quantitative comparison. Note that we use all input images (5 image...
متن کاملMethod of Quantitative Phase Analysis by XRD Without Reference Material
This new method which is worked out in Isfahan University of Technology, makes it possible to analyze the phases quantitatively in minerals and powdered materials by X Ray Diffraction and without any reference material. To identify n unknown phases, n different combinations of phases, from fine and coarse fractions, or etc., must be obtained. Amorphous phases should not exist. Intensity ratios ...
